Great video and I loved your analogy about your sites being compared to a castle and a moat. The more general your keyword, the bigger your moat needs be (i.g. backlinking, social bookmarking, article marketing, videos, etc.) to protect your castle (site).
Gotta say I’m excited and feel privileged to be able to watch over your shoulder.

One note: the audio seems to be in and out sometimes, or T is a bit louder than J, so you might want to invest in a couple of the lapel mics to enhance the quality of the audio … just a thought.

@ Jason…I did try to lean in closer to the mike but it seems I’m still a little too quiet. I am literally less than a foot from the mike so maybe the lapel mike might work better. We’ll look into it and I am sorry I’m difficult to hear. This is not the case in real life.

Great video. First time I’ve seen someone actually describe how to find a niche (neech along with Tin-it-us – pronunciation varies I guess but so long as we all know what you’re talking about that’s all that’s important).

I have a wonderful husband and 2 great sons. Both will be in college beginning this fall. We have been able to save some for their college over the years, but not enough. My younger son wants to be a doctor and although proud parents, are wondering how to get them both through college without having huge loans.

@Mike Long- Hey mike, in your video you say that you have a technique for 1 article fits or does all. Does that mean we don’t need to pay for an article submission service?

I have done a lot of reading on choosing products. But no one has ever explained or shown the in between details of finding products, finding niches and how to know if the product is a good choice. They left all this in between stuff out. The nice thing is, it is really easy to understand. I am actually able to follow you on my computer and really see what you’re talking about. I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time. It seems I am a visual learner. You couldn’t have done a better job. This is fantastic! If this really works, which I’m hoping it will, I can help my husband and take some of the load off him so that he can relax a little. He will soon be retiring. Fantastico!

might sound like a cliche, but I believe you , that they work, because this is exactly what people wish for in real life. Selling online is a like selling in a shop, in one sense, where you give the customer what they want.

I like this too, although I have never heard it explained just like this, in your own way, which I find very informative, and putting on the different hat assists niche research.
*Castle and Moats
Castles and moats is a good analogy, and you used the weight loss example very nicely. The very first product I ever sold online was a weight loss product from Clickbank. You never forget the first sale!
*Buyer: Market: Mindset
The way you discuss how to get into the minds of the market to find out what people are thinking and desiring is well explained. I got a lot from this part of the niche discussion.

I am a long-time reader/follower of Travis but this is my first time writing.
Travis – you are my #1 favorite IMer/teacher/guru (can I call you that, ha ha?)… It’s obvious that you CARE about people.That’s a big thing. You are just so darn polite and entertaining (and, shall I say, just a little bit naughty at times?) that you keep me coming back for more. And isn’t that kinda the point, right? I’ve sat through IM videos/webinars and such created by others that were so…well, boring. I look forward to coming home from work (yes, I make the time!) and listening to you guys.
I am very thankful for the time and energy you both are putting into Project Mom to share with us…for free, at that. This whole thing has gotten me excited to begin…yet again. I’ve been off-and-on learning for years so I’m not a complete newbie to some of this stuff, but I have had to take breaks and do need the refreshers and such. I don’t mind one bit (and sometimes still need) hearing what I need to know more than a couple times. Just to make sure it gets through.
Those people that have complained of the length of the videos or that you tend to repeat yourself…well, I just feel that if they don’t have an hour a day to spare to learn something that could potentially change their lives for the better, then maybe they are going down the wrong path. Practice and repetition makes perfect, as well as following the right people in this business. There will probably never be a time where you won’t have to take the time and make the effort to learn as long as you are in this field. Things change quickly. I hope they also realize that they probably won’t make $10,000 in 30 minutes, either. They are going to have to put way more than an hour into their businesses to get anywhere at all. At least to start.
People need to think of this as an investment into their future, just as if they were taking college classes to learn a trade… both of which take time, effort, “homework” and such. Of course, college you have to pay for. This happens to be free. But that doesn’t mean it’s not worth listening to or acting on. I don’t want others to discourage you or ruin this for the rest of us who appreciate what you are doing and ARE making the time to invest in their futures.
Okay, back to my education now…
